I met Audrey in 2016, at Zain and Brendan’s wedding in Seville, one of those events I hold close to my heart even after so many years. Audrey works in the world of photography as a curator, and from the very beginning, she always found special words that made me feel seen, understood. The connection that sometimes forms is incredibly important to me because it translates into stronger, more intimate photos—those wedding images I’ve always sought, images that stay with you for a lifetime.

Aubrey and Brandon chose Mexico City to celebrate their wedding, and as a photographer, it was wonderful to work in such a setting. I have always been drawn to the history and aesthetics of this city. I had already shot a wedding in Mexico, in the Yucatán, but this experience was completely different. We worked together for several days, from a wonderful excursion to the Xochimilco Ecological Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site, to the beautiful General Prim building.
